    TFFT - The Facilitator for TSM (IBM's Tivoli Storage Manager / Spectrum Protect)


A command line orientated user interface for the professional TSM administrator.


  1. Are you using the TSM command line (dsmadmc) to administer your TSM Server?
  2. Perhaps you are using 2 dsmadmcs, one as a console and one to enter commands?
  3. And perhaps you have a whole bunch of TSM Servers to manage?

Well I had all of the above and it resulted in having dozens of dsmadmc windows open all the time. That is why I wrote The Facilitator For TSM, so now I can have lots of console sessions open without lots of windows cluttering up the desktop. There is still a lot of work to do but a number of TSM administrators (including myself) have been using TFFT for their daily work for years now.

Attention Users of TFFT V1.14b

ErrorMessage: "TFFT Version is too old, please upgrade"
This version has expired - you'll have to upgrade to V1.16b
The good news:
You can upgrade to TFFT V1.16b AND keep your current dsmadmc setup:
  1. Download and extract TFFT116B.ZIP to a temporary directory.
  2. Overwrite your old TFFT files with the V1.16b files except zocfft.ini and server.ini
  3. Add the following line to the [PREFS] section of your zocfft.ini file: DSMADMCPATH = ".\dsmadmc.exe"
Now TFFT should work as before...
Of course as soon as you need ssl you'll have to upgrade to a newer tsm client or use UPD ADMIN xxx SESSIONSEC=TRANSITIONAL

TFFT Error 77

TFFT will fail to start and issue Error Code 77 if your System's Group Policy has the "Untrusted Font Blocking" setting enabled.
You will have to disable this setting or install Dina Font on your system.
Information on that Group Policy Setting, why its not needed any more and Info about Dina Font is easily found using your favorite interweb search engine...

TFFT V1.14b extends the expiration date for the pre-SSL version of TFFT into 2020

TFFT V1.15 provides SSL support

  * Preliminary support for SSL and ISP 8.1.2 / 8.1.3
  * Attention: TFFT now requires an installed ISP Administrative Command Line
  ==> You can continue to use TFFT V1.14 if you update your Admin ID as follows:
      UPDATE ADMIN <adminid> SESSIONSECURITY=TRANSITIONAL

TFFT V1.14 contains a  fix for systems that don't have the VC++ 2008 Redistributable x86 installed (e.g. fresh Windows 10 installations) and 3 other small bug fixes
